I Am Flammable
Hannah Campbell / Woodford County
Your smile smells like cigarettes
The smoke dances in the cracks of your teeth
Like a ghost between headstones.
I have been haunted enough.
Although I miss you here,
It is time for you move on.
You try to mask the smell with a square shaped perfume.
You have washed your clothes in its cheap scent
I’d think you’d try harder.
You are the queen of demise
And the demise of my clarity.
I can still smell it on you.
You open your mouth to speak.
I can smell your lungs burning
As my own desperately suck in air.
You are suffocating me.
